Collection: DSPTCH x Aero Blina Pack

There’s something to be hopeful about in the world of pediatric oncology. A new treatment has emerged that has shown efficacy in treating leukemia with young patients, particularly between the ages of 2 and 5. Meet Aero, a 3 year old from San Francisco that is full of life and at just 2 years of age, underwent treatment for B Cell ALL Leukemia.

This new treatment is called the Blinatumomab ( or "Blina" for short) and has shown some exciting results when administered under this new process. The challenge is that the device needed for the treatment, which can last up to 28 days, needs to be carried at all times and there is a shortage of options for these small patients to be able to do so comfortably while still allowing them to live their life unobstructed.

The DSPTCH design team was excited to take on the challenge. We had about 20 days to put a solution together for Aero before she began her next treatment. With the help of Aero’s doctors and nurses, we made a sample that was able to comfortably and safely hold all of her treatment equipment as she prepared for her next cycle. The bag features various pockets and loops made to her equipment spec’s that would allow her to play, sleep, and ride in a stroller or car without worrying about where her gear would go. 

Today, Aero and about 4,000 other young patients are set to take on a challenge that many of us have lived decades without even considering. We are excited to support them and hope that this challenge is just one of the many that they will conquer on their road to feeling like a normal kid again. 

For the launch, we also partnered with a few of our local friends to create custom editions of the Aero Pack.

Lastly, we understand that not all families have the resources to take this challenge head on. We will be committing 5% of our proceeds from all of the sales to local families in the Bay Area in the form of free DSPTCH x Aero Packs, working with local nurses and hospitals to help us.
